Annie’s Place brings meals to Burnaby General Hospital for COVID-19 frontline workers and health care teams

PUBLISHED May 12, 2020

Frontline medical staff at Burnaby General Hospital were treated to dinner today (Tuesday, 12 May 2020) by staff at Annie’s Place Group Care which provides health, in-home and community support to older persons and their families throughout the Lower Mainland.

Annie’s Place delivered 86 individual meals to frontline workers and health care teams who work in the COVID-19 floors of Burnaby General Hospital.

The freshly made Italian dinners were prepared by the Italian Cultural Centre of Vancouver in their commercial kitchen as required by the hospital with all the meals paid for by Annie’s Place Group Care Corp.

The meals were delivered to the Main Entrance of Burnaby General Hospital at 6:00 pm by Lina Fronzo and Dena Kae Beno, the two principals at Annie’s Place Group Care. They were joined by City of Burnaby Mayor Mike Hurley.

“Annie’s Place is a social business,” said Dena Kae Beno of Annie’s Place. “We appreciate giving back to communities that we work in through our ‘Community Give Back’ Initiative.” It was the Annie’s Place Care staff team that delivered the 86 meals.

“We want to thank the Burnaby Hospital Foundation,” added Lina Fronzo of Annie’s Place, “because they provided us with an opportunity to express our thanks for the work being done by these wonderful frontline nurses and staff who are helping people affected by COVID-19. They all deserve our

gratitude and thanks.” # For more information, please contact:
